It's been awhile since this little Ice Creamery located next to NEX shopping center has opened and I have seen the snaking queues especially at night. However I'm not fond of Ice Cream, so I didn't drop by to try until I realised they had the Nian Gao Waffle! As a huge fan of Nian Gao (especially when it's cooked), it sounded pretty amazing to me.

The Nian Gao Waffle ($6.80) with Sea Salt Gula Melaka Ice Cream ($4.20) I ordered is an absolutely divine combination, especially if you love sweet-savory! The salty Ice Cream provides a delicate contrast to the sweetness of the Nian Gao Waffles, leaving me wanting more; and like I said, I don't even like Ice Cream! But this was such a good combination.

To be honest I actually expected the Nian Gao Waffle to be infused in the batter, but it was more like waffle baked with slices of Nian Gao in it. The waffles were more fluffy and light, and nevertheless an ingenious combination. I do like it very much and would return again perhaps at a less crowded time on a weekday afternoon!
