The Soya Sauce Chicken Rice ($5.00) was neither bad nor fantastic. My favourite part of any chicken rice is the fluffy rice that is infused thoroughly with chicken oil. For the rice here, it was fragrant but slightly mushy. The chicken itself was pretty tasty as it was tender and soft. However, I thought that the sauce on the chicken was nothing special and it made the rice even mushier. With that being said, I am usually not a big fan of my rice doused with sauce so I may be a bit biased. On the other hand, Bear found the sauce to be pretty nice. I did enjoy the chili sauce and dark sauce provided though as they tasted high in quality and matched well with the chicken.

When the lotus pork ribs soup ($15.00) was served, we got a rude shock as it came in a big pot meant to serve 3 to 4 people. We thought that the soup would be served in an average-sized bowl like those that we get from lao huo tang. I felt at fault for not asking clearly but we thought the waitress was not being nice by upselling us the soup when there were clearly just the two of us. The soup had a lot of ingredients including lotus, pork ribs, cuttlefish, wolfberries, fig and other herbs. It was lightly seasoned and we thought that it could do with a bit more flavour. The pork ribs were not as soft as I would have liked even though the waitress mentioned that their soups are simmered for many hours.
