This humble $2 'Sungei Rd laksa' right here is one of my personal favorites - they use charcoal to boil their gravy, giving it an authentic and mildly smoky flavor that I simply adore. You won't be seeing any tau pok, prawns or egg in this minimalist laksa — only fresh cockles, some beansprouts if you may, fishcake slices and their house-made chili. Highly recommended!
