Definitely get this! It smelt so good. The skin was crisp, somewhat like a thinner version of siew yoke skin. The meat was so tender and juicy, there’s a nice bite to it and wasn’t tough. Pork jowl can sometimes taste overly fatty but this one was really really nice, the fats melted into the lean parts perfectly - might be the best pork jowl I’ve had thus far. The sauce had a wonderful depth of flavour, and went very well with the pork jowl. The crunchy pickled pears acted as a contrasting component, and I thought they were decent but my dining partner didn’t really like it. Still, this dish was easily one of our top 3 dishes.
