Checked out Lemuel Chocolate’s newest space at Westway, being located a stone’s throw away from Haw Par Villa MRT Station. Apart from retaining their bean-to-bar chocolate as well as other chocolate-related products, they do also offer a small selection of non-chocolate cases desserts such as the Matcha Yuzu Tart and Coffee Banana Tart.

Liked how the tart came fairly balanced; coffee-infused pastry cream lined atop a layer of caramelised banana puree beneath; a nice hint of caffeine over a slight sweetness from the fruit — pretty well-balanced whilst sitting atop a crumbly tart base that held up well to slices by disintegrating pretty neatly.

While we would usually opt to have our desserts to go with coffee, it would be missing the point if we did not go for the chocolate beverages here — a showcase of their knowledge behind cacao beans of different origins; the hot chocolate definitely coming with a delicate flavour profile that features a fruity note amidst the bitter sweetness and absolutely comforting indeed. A place that is recommended for chocolate lovers to check out; somewhere you can feel the passion and pride behind the craft — who knew that chocolate is something beyond that predictable sweet flavour that we are so used from processed chocolate anyway?
