Conventional savoury dumplings move over as Dumpling Darlings’ Fried Pierogi ($8) takes center stage. To be dipped in a smooth sriracha cream, these Eastern European-inspired dumplings are not to be missed.

Packed with truffle potato, caramelised onions, bits of smoked bacon and gooey cheddar cheese; it is certain that you will be greeted with a whiff of truffle upon your initial bite. Yet not overpowering, the earthy fragrance was gentle while the sauce added a touch of sweetness and pleasant spiciness. The smoked bacon and caramelised onions wrapped within also gave the dish a nice crunch apart from its golden brown exterior.

Thus, just like a flavour bomb, the fried parcels blew my mind with the explosion of bold flavours! And who says dumplings have to be old-fashioned as Dumpling Darlings really knocked it out of the park with this east-meets-west variation in my opinion.
