The herbal bak kut teh is not common in Singapore and is much more common in some parts of Malaysia, but there is one coffee shop in Marsiling that sells it! Hong Ji Claypot Bak Kut Teh serves the herbal bak kut teh in a steaming-hot claypot and the picture shows the 2-person serving. The soup contained quite a lot of ingredients, with around 8 pieces of pork ribs, and a decent serving of taupok and button mushrooms! 😋 The soup isn't excessively medicinal/herbal and it actually comes with a lightly sweet flavour which can be quite refreshing!

With 2 bowls of rice and 1 serving of youtiao, we paid around $15, which is fairly reasonable since it is a very big bowl of Bak kut teh! The stall is open very early in the morning and we had the dish for breakfast, although we felt that it could be slightly heavy for those of us who don't eat a lot in the morning. While the coffee shop is rather empty in the morning, we have been there for dinner before and it can be rather challenging to get a table.
