I visited Refuel cafe with high hopes after visiting their sister branch, Fuel Plus, at Harbourfront (which had a very tasty soft shell crab curry, totally worth a taste). This dish was nothing fancy, nothing notable. It made a passable brunch, but you should definitely order something else instead.

2 poached eggs sitting on a couple slices of smoked salmon, above a thin layer of guacamole.

Eggs were poached unevenly - I had one yolk oozing well and the other was 1/2 solid. Kinda took the fun out of the dish. Smoked salmon was nowhere near generous but I guess that’s justified by their affordable prices. Guacamole was rather measly too. I’m not sure what is was seasoned with but there were notes of Asian flavours, which did not pair well with the rest of the dish.
