A gimmick. A lie. My first thoughts when I first saw it on the menu a few months back. Took me a lot of courage to overcome the fear of spending so much on a quintessential dish that might underwhelm. Thankfully it didn’t. Innovative. Absolutely delish. Worth the money (considering the effort put in). Everything came together perfectly - the umami from the ikan billis powder, the springiness of the fresh squid noodles, and the perfectly marinated and seared scallops. I was transported to a parallel universe. The only issue: they didn’t allow me to “jia mian”...
