I really like this new restaurant along Duxton, serving very good seasonal Bouchot mussels from France and across Continental Europe.
🔸
Of the five flavours I tasted that evening, my favourite is this Thai-style flavour that came with strong aroma of kaffir lime leaf and lemongrass, with mild heat from chilli, mixed with white wine and plenty of aromatic coconut milk. Very rounded, full flavour but still light enough to savour the natural sweetness of mussels.
🔸
Besides the Curry Mussels which I posted on 13 Feb, I've also tried these flavours, ranked in my order of preference:
* Ardennaise, which was prepared with Mushrooms, Fresh Cream, White Wine, Butter, Parsley, Onion and Bacon. A little savoury, a little smoky;
* French Marinières, a classic with White Wine, Butter, Parsley and Onion;
* Au Roquefort, that boasts the strong, savoury flavour of ‘the King of Blue Cheese’.
