Described as a Tom yam flavoured spicy and sour seafood mixed platter consisting of prawns, minced pork, squid, mussels, fish, egg, and mama/instant noodles—this dish was approximates for feed 2-3 pax. Please, it fed way more than that🤣 while I do think that 2-3 pax can finish this and feel full, groups accommodating more people can afford to try this and the other affordable Thai dishes they offer. The soup was lacked flavour upon first taste, but after a few servings and allowing the ingredients to simmer in the soup for a while, it became a good balance of spicy and sour. Honestly, this is a seemingly easy dish to cook at home. But, having this steamboat-mixed-platter vibe in a restaurant setting in Jewel Changi Airport makes the experience really fun and worthwhile, especially when it is arguably one of the affordable meals for a restaurant in the area.
I’ve seen reviews on Sanook’s service being horrible in other branches. While the service here was not outstanding, it may be understandable as it was peak hour and there were more people than usual. Although at times you do believe that some staff ignore you or are not as aware as you’d like, there were a few extremely polite and friendly staff who made us feel welcome. That contributed to a rather lovely meal experience there.
