A birthday is incomplete without a celebratory meal in my family so for Dad’s birthday this year he chose Cheek Bistro.

Out of the mains we had here I liked the Iberico Pork Chop best for its repertoire of flavours; not so much the texture of the meat itself but it might only be the fault of mine as the cut just happened to tend towards the lean side. Next the lamb was too strong tasting for my liking, while the brined then fried quail had too red a meat colour for our conservative Asian palate.
