Gorgeous layers of pandan green and gula melaka brown. Don't be fooled by the disarming brown though, for it packs a pretty shiok sugar rush. Its crumbly, grainy, sandy texture makes it good enough to enjoy it on its own, if you ask me. 😛

Not a fan of that icky buttery texture of the icing that will slip on your tongue though. You'll be prone to tasting it you cut the cake from behind. That scoop of vanilla ice-cream was a heapful though, but predictable sweet flavour vanilla essence is all you'll get from it. That said nevertheless, it was pretty creamy and it does go hand in hand with the cake.

Despite it being a staple in halal cafés, I've tried only one or two ondeh-ondeh cakes. Even if this didn't make me go "Masha'Allah sis sedap nye ni!", this one definitely rekindled my yearning for more renditions. 😋 (7/10)
