I’ve never tried Shake Shack before this, and I was all ready to dismiss the hype surrounding it.. Grudgingly agreed to make a trip down with my friends - be prepared for huge crowds and limited seating! I’d say to give their fries and drinks a miss, but their burgers really won me over. I tried the single Smoke Shack ($10.90), which comprises one beef patty topped with applewood smoked bacon and chopped cherry peppers, swathed in between their signature potato buns. I’d come back just for the bread - pillowy soft and milky sweet! It helped balance the strong flavours of the filling. The beef patty is tender and beautifully charred!! The bacon is a tad salty, but mellowed by their special sauce. I appreciated the addition of peppers, whose spice elevated its taste.
