Swedish brownies are known for their ultra chocolatey richness. What if we took out the chocolate and introduced one of the world's most expensive spices, saffron, into it? We, or rather I, would be really curious on how it'd fare.

(Btw, this was part of Fika's seasonal menu for Winter)

Mildly sweet, with a subtle woody, smoky flavour (if that makes sense) from the saffron. Pretty gooey too, much like how a traditional Swedish brownie should be. I think I could have it without the dollop of ice-cream and chantily cream the next time. They didn't push the taste to newer heights.

I would say it's a little too pricey for the portion though. If it weren't $9 for a size smaller than a Daim cake at IKEA, I'd come back for more. 🤔 (7/10)
