Seasonal special for the month of July, this ramen comes with a fusion of Italian and Japanese cuisine, comprising of ramen tossed in a creamy carbonara sauce, topped with breaded prawn and scallops, ramen egg, spring onions, seaweed and black pepper. A dry style ramen that actually resembled a pasta instead, apart from the different types of noodles used. The ones here actually felt pretty similar to the Samyamg korean instant ramen 😅. Best to consume it while hot as otherwise the noodles might turn soft and soggy. The breaded prawns and scallops had unfortunately lost their crispness from the thick, creamy sauce. Personally adore the scallops which came with a soft and chewy texture, prawns were decent but would have been better if it’s relatively bigger in size with more juiciness. Along with spring onions and seaweed that added a pleasant umami note, the presence of black pepper also added a tinge of spice, a great counterbalance to the otherwise overwhelming and heavy dish. The set also came with green tea (hot/cold) which is refillable, one-bite gyoza and ice cream(lemon ginger, vanilla, goma or matcha). The gyoza here, differs from the typical ones out there, with a size that’s tiny and can be eaten in ONE BITE (as the name suggest). However, I felt that the exterior could have been more crisp and there was a porky stench in the minced meat fillings that I personally wasn’t a fan of. As for the ice cream, no doubt my decision would be Matcha which unfortunately failed to impress and was lacklustre, with a vague hint of matcha flavour that was barely detectable amidst the milkiness and also the presence of tiny ice crystals within the scoops. Although I do enjoy the carbonara ramen still, I must admit that I feel it isn’t exactly worth the price paid for, as this dish seemed to be one that can be easily replicated in your home kitchen . .
