This is the popiah stall that I patronise the most due to its proximity to my home. Located at a corner of a coffee shop at Blk 407 Ang Mo Kio Ave 10, this humble stall produces decent popiahs to get my regular craving fixed.
Good:
• One of the cheapest popiahs you can find ($1.40 each)
• If you love garlic, this will be the popiah for you because the auntie puts a HEAPING teaspoon of minced garlic into each one
• Great textures - Sweet, tender turnips, crunchy cucumbers and slightly chewy skin
• Well-wrapped. The popiah slices held its shape and did not fall apart as I picked it up
Drawbacks:
• The standard of the skin is inconsistent for it sometimes lands itself on the dry side
• I would prefer the peanuts to be lined along the perimeter of the popiah rather than being concentrated in the center
Verdict: 3.5/5
