I’ve always preferred strong heavy flavors so I liked this better than the dang gui. It was not as sour as I thot. But the sour, sweet and spicy balance was not bad. Just not the regular Assam I’m used to. It was nice on its own, but it didn’t really gel well with the chicken rice. The taste was not compatible so I ended up eating this dish by itself and the rice with chili and dark soy sauce separately.
