Standing in front of the display I thought “the tarts are larger than your mini tarts from Polar/ Delifrance, but smaller than your usual dessert/ pastry options at cafes.” Size aside I was saddened by the doughy, unappetising ondeh ondeh deceptively and beautifully topped on the tart base. If I ever do return I’d stick to flavours less prone to err, like the sweet chocolate salted caramel.
On to the base, the tart shells nostalgically remind me of the hard crumbly sorts I used to have from a particular commercial bakery; nothing fancifully artisan but it’d satiate.
