Had a hearty dinner at The Assembly Ground in The Cathay recently, and I was pleasantly surprised by their 1-for-1 pasta promotion!

Scanned through the menu, and settled on this Truffle Carbonara (S$24) - I mean, this is truly the answer to "how do I make a simple carbonara more decadent?"

I simply had to break the egg and watch the yolk ooze out. Juicy mushrooms? Check. Al dente pasta? Check. Truffle bits and truffle fragrance? Check, and check. There's no meat here, but the earthy, juicy mushrooms more than made up for it.
