The new kid on the block, City Donut just opened on Tuesday but has since received much fanfare for their locally inspired donuts with fillings such as Milo Dinosaur and Pandan Gula Melaka. Price point wise, they are definitely more affordable than the rest at around the $2 range. When we were there on a Saturday afternoon, they almost sold out their remaining donuts and fortunately we managed to try two of them. Between the two, the Pandan Gula Melaka fared slightly better with its generous palm sugar coconut but it can get messy while eating as the filling is too watery and the dough soaks up the liquid. To me, the donuts felt more like a bun as the texture was denser. As for the Milo Dinosaur, the chocolate malt filling was just too creamy and lacking the Milo powder taste.
