🍚 Pork Chop Fried Rice ($14++) (8/10)
I spent a very long time debating between getting this or the la mian because I know there are cheaper fried rice options but at the same time, $14++ makes my cheapskate heart cry a little. On hindsight, I should have gotten the la mian because I dont think this dish stands out that much compared to it's many competitors. The rice is honestly a little bland, it could use a lot more salt imo and it just wasn't nearly as fragrant as Din Tai Fung's. The pork chop was pretty good, being crisp and chewy with a strong pork flavour, but for a dish that costs so much, I was expecting more.

🥞 Pan Fried Pancake with Red Bean ($8++) (8/10)
Crispy fried pancake with sweet red bean filling, the red bean is really smooth and very sweet, like processed tau sar. Generally works well as a dessert though I do find it pretty expensive for a small dish, but good nonetheless!

🍖 Crispy Sweet & Sour Pork ($14.30++) (8.3/10)
A really classic dish, the pork is tender while being crispy on the outside and the sweet and sour sauce marinates the pineapples, onions and pork well.

🥟 Shanghai Dumpling (小笼包) ($13.30++ for 10pc) (8.5/10)
These dumplings are wrapped in a very fine and fragile skin that break relatively easy if you aren't careful. I'd say that's a hallmark of a good 小笼包 since the skin isn't overly chewy or thick, though it did mean that a few of these precious soup sacks did break in the process of transferring them around 😪 nevertheless, really soupy and tasty without being too oily!

Generally a nice and lowkey atas place to visit for a good Chinese meal, but it wouldn't be my first choice. Din Tai Fung remains as my number one for fried rice, but Paradise provides a pretty similar alternative to it!
