TLDR; visit by 21 Dec for this cray cray patty melt. I don’t know if I should count myself exceedingly lucky, or immensely unfortunate, to have tasted Wine RVLT’s amazing Patty Melt ($26) on my first visit — 2 days before they remove it from their menu (brb am crying). Their take on the American sandwich, which I would stake my foodie rep on, sees thick slices of milk bread, buttered and toasted to a crunchy golden perfection, holding together a juicy Westholme wagyu patty, melted cheese, some creamy and incredibly zesty sauce gibriche, and some ketchup. Yep, ketchup (fyi I don’t like ketchup). It’s so fuss-free really, but what I love about this sandwich is it (shockingly) managed to change my mind on multiple personal burger rules: one, no ketchup; and two, my dislike for really red meat. I never have my patties anything below medium-well, but RVLT’s tartare-like patty that completely melts in your mouth as you chew just...blew my mind.
