We like that it's laid-back enough for dinner with friends, yet nicely outfitted for dates and special occasions. The kitchen emphasises fresh artisanal ingredients, and the handmade pizza crusts are baked in a wood-fired oven till crisp, light and airy, both of which justify the higher than usual pizza prices. Look under the Specials section in the pizza menu for a variety of creatively paired toppings. Two favourites with the Burpple community are the Prosciutto & Asparagus ($34), a complex layering of San Daniele aged prosciutto, mozzarella, Grano Padano, broccoli cream and asparagus; as well as the Sausage & Potatoes ($34), which cleverly contrasts savoury sausage with delicate slices of purple sweet potato. End your meal on a sweet note with the Portuguese Egg Tart ($4.20 for two). Dusted liberally with cinnamon, the tart sees an oozing custard encased in flaky crust.
