I have not been to Taiwan but I know it's a foodie heaven there, given the shockwaves of Taiwan food stalls popping up in Singapore. Recently there was this media coverage on the trending Popiah style Ice cream with shaved peanut from Taiwan having arrived in Singapore through DessertStory branches, I knew I had to try this before my trip.

At $3.50 for a piece of popiah ice cream, it doesn't really complete your reserved space for dessert in your stomach, but it sure was interesting. I like how the chilling feeling on the popiah skin which wraps around the coconut ice cream that I have ordered. It's like having a much thinner slice of bread ice cream that you will see on the streets. There is also a leaf of coriander inside, which struck a refreshing yet unusual taste. I'm not sure if it will go well the majrotiy's taste buds, this doesn't seem too strong for me. Lastly, the shaved peanut candy really brought up the dessert dish to its worth. I love the fragrance and crunchiness of the peanuts in Min Jiang Kueh and the pairing with the ice cream is just brilliant.

Like a burrito, when you bite on it, the sauces and meat just burst forth into your mouth; imagine that with ice cream and the wonderful peanut candy.
