Stay hydrated too, the heat out there is getting out of hand ☀️

While soaking in the Diwali spirit, we popped by the crowded and chaotic Tekka FC for some amazing munchies. The food here may appear humble and inexpensive, but requires skill and fermentation process for some dishes to achieve the perfect taste and texture.

Dum Briyani Chicken | Samad's Tekka Dum Briyani | 01-261
The fragrant plate of briyani is made up of long-grain orange yellow rice. The chicken is tender and delicious, flavours are on point with the right amount of aromatic garam masala. The accompanying dalcha is sweet and contains chunks of brinjal and gourd. There is also cucumber side, which helps to balance the richness from the chicken. At $5.50 a portion, you do get your money’s worth.

Masala Thosai | Sri Tiffin Stall | 01-224
If you think a meal for $2.50 is a rare find, we are happy to intro you to one for $1.50. The thosai is griddle-cooked with mixture of fermented rice and semolina flours, crisp and lacy in texture, it holds within a generous amount of the masala/mashed potato mixture. You get a bit of pancake and potato in each bite. These are really tasty and release great flavours when you bite into them.
.
Comes with a myriad of condiments - sambhar (a thinner lentil curry with vegetables), coconut and tomato-chilli chutneys, which in our opinion were the best paired w the mild flavoured thosai.
.
It's safe to say that most stalls would deliver similar food at decent quality and flavours. Don't hesitate to pop by any one to try!
