Hwang Sil is a Korean Chinese restaurant along Maxwell Road which is famous amongst the Korean community for its jajangmyeon.

I have covered their jajangmyeon previously and am back today to recommend their tangsuyuk or sweet and sour pork.

Unlike the Chinese koloyuk which comes as a bite sized chunk, the Korean tangsuyuk comes in thin strips of meat. The Chinese usually stir fries their koloyuk with the sweet and sour sauce whereas the Koreans plates the sauce separately to be used as a dip or drizzled upon being served.

I personally prefer the Korean sauce a little more because it's more sour than sweet and accompanies the pork better. Hwang Sil serves an amazing version of tangsuyuk which is excellent as a side dish to their even more amazing jajangmyeon.
