But I gotta admit the fried chicken was exceedingly yummy. I mean it was nicely marinated, tender and juicy, and had a fabulously crunchy batter that’s very much like what you get from shrimp paste chicken wings, but without that flavour (if you get what I mean). It’s a wee bit salty on its own, but nicely balanced out with slices of fresh tomatoes, simple slaw, and a genius touch of sour plum powder. Now what I didn’t like, was that the toast was perhaps a little over-toasted and lacking that fluffiness a good sando has. Also would’ve preferred if they pounded the chicken so it’s a more even piece that’s easier to bite into? But what really ticked me off was the salad dressing, which I swear tastes basically like pure lime juice emulsified with a bit of oil — crazy sour and like, really guys it’s a rookie mistake come on.
