There is dry and soup version. I prefer the dry version as I enjoy the springy noodles with delicious chilli sauce and vinegar gravy. Sometime I order Mee Pok or Kway tiao and yellow Noodles. Depend on my mood. They will add toppings like braised mushroom, minced pork and pork lard. Yum yum. Believe it or not whenever I am overseas, the dish I miss most is actually this simple local dish - Mushroom Minced Meat Noodles!
.
Featuring Lai Heng Mushroom Minced Meat Noodles ($4/$5/$6)
from Toa Payoh. We ordered $5. It also includes abalone slices and pig liver slices. The tender abalone and its fragrance brings up the mushroom minced meat noodles to the next level. The mushrooms were tender. Ingredients were fresh and the noodles were well mixed with the flavorful chilli sauce. Yum yum. Try it when you are in the area. Be warned they often have long waiting time. Some people wait for an hour. I was lucky to just wait for 15 minutes. They will give you a queue number and you will just wait for your number to be called. So not too bad. You can sit and enjoy your drink while waiting.
