This was one of the things I grew up eating before I became a foodie. I've returned to Golden Mile umpteen times since but never patronised them. I never knew they served mee kia and mee pok, but I decided on thick beehoon, which was a mistake. The magic of chilli mee is coating your noodles with the sauce, and thick beehoon is too slippery. Otherwise, they use good prawns and pork ribs, but the tau pok was meaningless.
