This store is run by a lovely old couple who have been making their chwee kueh daily for years, from steaming the rice cakes to making their special savoury chai poh sauce, it truly is heartening to see a pair so dedicated to their craft. Perhaps the last of savoury chwee kueh in Singapore (at least that I know of). I asked the auntie to help me separate the sauce cos I was 打包 (takeaway) -ing and she popped in an extra one for me just because there was extra space in the wrap. ❤ Guess I'll have to eat more chwee kueh before it disappears one day, and all we're left with is the factory made stuff.

Side note: If you stare really carefully to the left of the photo you can see a funny little message left anonymously which was pretty apt.
