We had asked for the usual ginger soup version but somehow lost in translation, we ended up with two bowls of these, cooked in fermented rice wine and egg drop. The locals told her that it’s very typical Taiwanese and that it’s an acquired taste. Yes, it is but after a few slurps, I was sold. This was especially warming on a chilly night.
