Their affordable menu offers an extensive variety of bite-size to big-plate dishes with quirky names such as BellyRollMe, DuckedByLaksa or MythicalChawanmushi. That’s b’cos these guys had creatively put in twists to familiar Japanese and Peranakan or local dishes. The thoughts put into each creation were evident from its presentation and combinations of flavours.
The MythicalChawanmushi, for example, was visually spectacular with the squid-ink Dashi Unicorn that would “disappear” into the Chawanmushi topped with generous serving of Ikura. The BellyRollMe was an unique take on classic Porchetta with Mee Siam gravy, conceptually and tasted really interesting.
While popular items will be kept, they seek to mix others in the Omakase meal to continually introduce surprises in the dining experience. And experience is what they seek to create here. We certainly enjoyed the warm services with great enthusiasm in explaining the story behind each creation. Even the placemat has meaningful messages in its design.
We also appreciate the social-minded efforts from the guys at Uncle Kiisu. What do we mean and what Uncle Kiisu really stands for? It will be more enjoyable to discover and experience it yourself, as what they seek to achieve.
For a limited period, the Omakase meal is going for 1-for-1 with @chopesg booking. Also check out their wine-pairing b’cos we certainly enjoyed it with ours.
