The highlight here at Fook Kin has got to be their char siew. It’s so simple yet roasted to perfection. Meat was tender, fat was melt-in-the-mouth and skin had the right amount of char to make you go oooh and ahhhh. The sauce on the side is a bit too salty though and I personally felt that the char siew itself was already so tasty, you don’t need any sauce to elevate it.

And the siew yoke? THE BEST I’ve ever had. Don’t underestimate that skin there, it’s actually freaking crackling and shouting out to the whole world ‘YEA I’M THAT GOOD’ as you crunch down on it. The meat itself retained the natural sweetness of the pork and paired with just a dab of the tangy mustard sauce on the side, it was absolutely delightful 😌

Shared this platter among two and it was just right. I recommend getting the noodles ($3) to go along with it. The noodles get you wondering how noodles tossed in oil and some minced meat could ever taste this good. Will be back!!! But not so soon for the sake of my coronary vessels haha
