I used to skip appetisers like these because these are things you can throw in and put together at home .

Part of the 3 course set lunch - the romaine were crisp and high quality and actually sweet !

The bacon was as well treated and toasted .

And that creamy poached egg - a very high quality egg makes all the difference .

Balanced it off with olive oil and balsamic instead of the usual heavy dressing .

This was excellent for the crazy hot weather .
