Went straight for the $5 portion (default’s $4) since we woke up early to come by! Can’t believe we haven’t heard of Hup Kee before this, but better late than never right? 😛 Noodles here are done the Malaysian style - tossed thoroughly with a combi of dark sauce, lard, shallot oil and chilli. Mee kia seemed to be the most popular choice among customers and for a clear reason, it was pretty springy and picked up the sauce very well. The accompanying bowl of soup came with handmade fishballs, fishcakes and stuffed tau pok. All of them are made daily with purely yellowtail fish meat and were SO GOOD - the soft texture’s everything! How rare it is to get handmade ones like these nowadays, will definitely be back for this gem.
