As close as you can get to Johor’s bak kut teh!

I braved the queue on a sweltering Sunday afternoon to finally try Kota Zheng Zong Bak Kut Teh! Yes, I know, why have BKT when it’s already blazing hot? I have no idea but I know it’s worth it.

I opted for the herbal claypot with premium pork ribs ($12.90/29.90, pictured/53.90). First thing that hit me was the soup. It’s wonderfully fragrant and one would definitely get a refill during his meal. Next, the pork was satisfactory, not as tender as one could find elsewhere but definitely tasty. Lastly and unfortunately, from an operations front, the service staff were a bit overwhelmed with the Sunday crowd so service was a bit slow.

I’d say to come try on an off-peak period to try the herbal soup. I’ll come back just for that.
