That’s the best advice. You’re going to find that there’s something that you do well, and try to do it as much originality as you can, and don’t skimp on the words. Work on the words.”- Bob Seger
Originality is somewhat a rarity this days especially in desserts as people flock to the latest fad until the next one comes along. But there is a dessert that just keeps going strong which is the Herbal grass jelly that is so rooted with tradition for we fellow Chinese!
In Uptown, there is a place called After Meal desserts that have famous neighbours like Tsujiri and Miru but it does stands out quite prominently with its striking colours.. There aren’t short of smiles there in this little place as the people there are just filled with warmth and smiles of hospitality ever so eager to help you navigating their dessert menu.. Their signature is the Classic Herbal Glass Jelly & Taro Mochi but they have a few variations to it! So we opted the one with the Fresh Milk ice cream! It’s actually great for sharing as this dessert portion is suitable for 2-3 person if you aren’t a big sweetie but if you are I’m sure you are going to be extremely satisfied by having it alone! It is all made to order and I can tell you that the combination of smooth and silky texture of the grass jelly kakigori underneath the thin layer of grass jelly brought out an interesting flavour profile and balance between the bitterness of grass jelly with the smooth texture of the shaved ice and adequate sweetness of the syrup with the chewy little pearls, the crunchy flakes of almond together with the smoky milk tea that being poured above it creates a truly harmonious and layers of taste in every spoonful! You gotta try their Iron Lady Grass Jelly Milk tea! It truly convert with depth of flavours that brought out the earthiness, smokey notes from the fermentation process and you can know that it was being made carefully with the proper seeping of the tea to extracts it’s Chinese red dates or plum notes.. It will surely give those bubble tea places a run for their money 🤣 #afoodiesaffair #aftermealdesserts #damansarauptown #burpple #burpplekl
