I guess what appears to be the kueh salat trend is really creeping over to the mainstream, with McCafé releasing their very own Kueh Salat Cake ($5.20).

I did not really think too much about how this would fare, but once i took a bite, I was so pleasantly surprised - this DOES taste like the real deal! I would say it's somewhat sweeter than regular kueh salat, but the pandan mousse and sticky rice are pretťy on point in terms of bringing the essence of the kueh salat together, along with the coconut flakes. Of course, it's more cakey than kueh-ish, which is obvious considering the sponge cake base, but boy am I impressed! 😋
