I taught two classes, was planning to go home and nap when I have a call from my friend Sarah who said she was already at a different studio and had signed in for a Scorpion Backbends workshop we had been threatening to go to. It started in 20 minutes. One thing I love about Singapore is that the traffic is so efficient even tho it was the other side of town I knew I could make it. She signed me in as I jumped in a taxi. Two and half hours of backbends later and I still hadn’t had lunch, I was starving! I had signed myself up for a Yin class on the east coast that evening (and also put some lovely Lululemon leggings aside to take advantage of my staff discount!) so we headed over to Tall Girl Chinese. A veggie heaven on East Coast Road, I chowed down on my fave shredded bean curd. It’s a dish served cold with shredded carrots and cucumber, in a magical sauce which I don’t know what it contains. In the background is my second fave, dou miao, or pea shoots, marinated in another amazingly flavourful sauce. We also had the bitter gourd and shredded salted egg which isn’t pictured. First time I tried it and it is very bitter, not sure I’ll have that again! Afterwards I somehow managed the Zen class meaning I taught or did over 5 hours of yoga yesterday - hence lack of posts and why im walking like John Wayne today! #shreddedbeancurd #beancurd #chinese #chinesefood #veggiefood #vegetarian #tallgirlchinese
