From WK Thai Chicken Rice at Victory8; opened by the folks behind JJ Thai Cuisine, WK Thai Chicken Rice takes over the spot formerly occupied by Makan Thai and serves up Khao Man Gai (a Thai variant of Hainanese Chicken Rice) as their main focus here.

The Thai variant of Hainanese Chicken Rice isn’t too far off from what we are familiar with — the chicken is served in the same way that our White Chicken Rice is; tender with a gelatinous skin that is drenched in a light soy sauce for a lingering savouriness. The rice also carries evident flavour; the same as the local variant that we are more familiar with. There is a slight difference when it comes to the chili sauce here though (not pictured); the chili sauce carries a savoury note rather than the bright, zippy and tangy chili sauce that we are used to. That being said, the set here costs only $4; pretty much the same as I were to opt for Hainanese Chicken Rice elsewhere this a viable option to go for in the area.
