Kaya, Earl Grey Tea.

A real surprise to have found this location nestled in the heartlands deep in Jurong East. Essentially a recreation of the local favourite of Kaya Toast, this variant sees Earl Grey-infused Kaya and Kouign Amann-esque pastries replicating toast for the dish. Digging into the Kaya, the Kaya perfumes of Earl Grey Lavender aroma, an interesting contrast to the familiar coconut jam which carries similar texture to that of Kaya often found in supermarkets without being too sweet nor having an aftertaste. The Kouign Amann-esque pastries were crisp; not as bready as the Kouign Amann for it replicates the crispness of the usual Kaya Toast, though glazed in sugar for sweetness. An interesting and thoughtful twist to something so familiar to the local palate.
