Not your usual 麻辣火锅 or 麻辣香锅, this way of eating mala is not common in Singapore yet, but it’s actually widespread in China. 麻辣烫 is essentially similar to our yong tau foo where we pick the ingredients and this time round it’s blanched and cooked in a mala broth that’s drinkable. The numbing of the tongue, spiciness and fragrance of the mala broth makes it such an addictive and enjoyable meal.
