Vegetarian delight @ Komala Villas 😋
*****
Always a treat to visit heritage eating place like "Komala Villas" (est. since 1947). This vegetarian South Indian eatery is always crowded and famous as the place is chosen as a Singapore restaurant to welcome guests on state visit. We can't help to expect the food must be delicious!! 🤓
.
We visit the place on Saturday lunch and proceed to order the food on 2nd floor.
We ordered
* Plain Dosai $2.7 (a pancake made with lentil & rice flour and served with Sambar, chutney and kulambu)
* Naan bread $2.9
* Aloo Gobi Masala $7.8
* Palak Paneer (puréed spinach & cottage cheese) $8.3
Total bill incl. water is $23
.
Eating by hand is a norm in Indian restaurant. However, we are also given cutlery just in case. We wash our hands, wiped with their tissue and enjoy our food.
.
The Palak Paneer is a highlight and definitely our most favourite dish as the cottage cheese is nicely prepared with puréed cheese. We can feel some spice flavor in Aloo Gobi Masala. We also enjoy the paper dosai but the 3 vegetarian side dishes taste rather mild.
We have yet to try the Idly set and Vadai set and will have to wait until next time. Stay tuned!!!
