Essentially a Teochew noodle dish, this dish of preserved radish fried with flat rice noodles is very rare in Singapore as there are not many places that do this. However, we found a real gem at POH’s as the wok hei in this plate is absolutely immense. Besides the two main components, there’s egg that’s being beaten into it, spring onion added in for the refreshing freshness and crunchy prawns for the added luxury. The entire noodle and ingredients is wok-fried and this thin layer ensures that the edges are crispy. When this plate arrives, you can instantly smell the smokiness from each sheet of kway teow and if you are lucky, you might even get a piece of pork lard from your bite. I shall admit that this is slightly greasy but who cares when everything on this plate was just so damn good. This has got to be one of my best finds for the year and with that I will wrap up 2018 and be back in 2019 with more hawker foods.
