From Chico Loco, a new concept by the folks behind The Loco Group which also runs Lucha Loco and Super Loco that places an emphasis on Mexican Spit-Roasted Chicken.

Priced at S$13, the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich is pretty value-for-money considering both its generous portions and quality. The sandwich features a slab of buttermilk spicy frier chicken, Jalapeños, pickled cucumber, and hot sauce mayo in between two sesame buns which are sourced from Burnt Ends; the very same ones used in their famed Sanger. Sinking our teeth into the sandwich, the sesame buns were no doubt light, soft and fluffy, while the buttermilk fried chicken patty was crisp on the exterior and tender within without being particularly greasy; the spiciness seemingly coming from the Jalapeños and hot sauce mayo that helps to add a flavour contrast and should be mostly fine for those who are tolerant to moderate levels of spiciness. The pickled cucumbers cut through the meatiness well with its crunch and zingy, sourish note, while the slaw at the bottom work mostly similar to that of a salsa, which provides a pretty refreshing texture and flavour to cut through all that heaviness in the sandwich, without the Bun beneath being all soggy from absorbing all of that stuff above it. Comes with nacho chips on the side, which were thankfully still pretty crisp throughout the entire meal.
