The waffle was suitably crisp and erect and the chicken happily fatty and tender, but what made it all something special was the salty, powdery and spicy powder, which played like a filthy, sweaty romp between Maggi seasoning and Japanese Togarashi, staying nicely glued to your forkful of food courtesy of the sweet bourbon maple syrup.
