These are the best mooncakes I've had in a few years, and you know I eat a lot of mooncakes every season. My favourite baked mooncake each year always came from Feng Shui Inn at Resort World Sentosa, with their fragrant and delicate fillings, in fine crust that's every bit premium and meticulously crafted.

This year, Feng Shui Inn outdid themselves. They are now serving it in crisp buttery flaky pastry, sprinkled with white sesame seeds. They're filled with molten salted egg lava, smoothened by a multi-textured base of custard, diary milk, coconut milk and salted butter. It's a perfect balance of sweet and savoury, and threading on the fine line between salted egg and custard. When you thought a particular custard mooncakes from a Hong Kong is the best, wait till you try this.
