This quaint, unassuming store hidden in Serangoon Garden Food Centre carries a mere handful of old-school treats: think your classic butter cakes, brownies, and egg tarts. You wouldn't think it to be anything special (I know I didn't), but my oh my do they make fantastic cakes. For one their brownie's possibly the best I've had. None of those American overly fudgy/wet/more-like-flourless-cakes ones, but those we grew up eating in franchise café-restaurants like Swensen's — a perfect crusty top generously specked with toasted walnuts, and moist but not goopy insides.
