[Bishan] Located at Shunfu Food Centre, an eatery strangely reminiscent of American Diners with their boldly colored tables and chairs, Lai Heng Fried Kway Tiao ($3) struck a chord with me. Apart from the glistening, silky-smooth noodles, Lai Heng’s signature kway tiao is easily identifiable with an iconic white spoon jabbed into the sides of the dish. The generous serving of blood cockles and lup cheong, together with the accentuated wok hei flavour made for a dish that I am eager to come back again for. Throw in another $1 to get an otah that, oddly enough, complements the dish pretty well. Word of warning though, the kway tiao served here is a wetter (moist) variant of what is typically served. If you're on #teamdry, this might not suit your palate.
